“Born in the Dark” is a pop rock track that explores someone who’s tainted life experiences causes them to constantly betray their partner, whilst they beg them to stay with them and help them to change. This story is accompanied by a backdrop of 80s-style guitars and synths, starting with a stripped back intro that builds into a rousing chorus. It all culminates in a stupendous guitar solo evocative of driving down Miami beach in the 80s.
