ACTIVE DARK FILAMENT is an electronic composer from British Columbia, Canada. Drawing on many influences, including the Berlin School of electronic music, progressive rock, and jazz, the music is realized using both analogue and digital synthesizers, drum machines, and fretted and fretless electric basses.

Active dark filaments are immense streams of plasma suspended above the surface of the sun slowly evolving and undergoing cycles of destruction and rebirth. From Earth, they appear as regions of metamorphosis on the otherwise placid surface of the sun. The music of Active Dark Filament is in the same spirit, exploring melodies and themes which coalesce gradually and evolve over a bed of electronic rhythms.
